HELPING HAND Grants to support kidney cancer families in need.
This event covers a large amount of Kidney Cancer education for patients and their families.
Due to the pandemic our event will be scaled down for your safety to include the John Estrella Memorial Golf Tournament and mail-in raffle. We are asking for your support, any size donation will help us to continue our mission. Cancer patients are our most vulnerable population, yet research funding for cancer treatment and cures is at its lowest level in a century. As we all are trying to resume life, getting research back up to speed is no easy task. COVID-19 has put us on track to lose 50% of research funds by the end of 2020.
The Costumes for Cancer 5k Run and 2.5k Walk at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. The event is a Halloween fun run with prizes for best costumes as well as overall 5k winners. The race will include a post-race “trick or treat” in which participants are encouraged to visit local businesses (race sponsors) in Cleveland Circle and receive a “treat” for showing their race bib. This event will be a great way to advertise for your business – you won’t just be credited for your support; participants will be encouraged to actually visit your business that day!
Thank you to our generous sponsors and donors. Your philanthropy has allowed us to expand our program this year. Funds raised will benefit the following programs:
Research Grant – given to a scientist working to treat kidney cancer
Needs Assessment – to identify unmet needs of kidney cancer patients
Helping Hand Grant – cancer patients apply for funds to cover costs not covered by insurance
